Rail Trail Bridges
Blasting and Coating
Strzelecki Ranges, Mirboo North, Victoria
About this Project
The devastating Victorian bushfires of February 2009 destroyed a number of bridges in the Strzelecki Ranges between Mirboo North and Boolarra. The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) had two 66-metre bridges each consisting of three 22-metre “Harbour Bridge” style spans built and installed so as to re-open the trails between the towns. The bridges were required to be painted with a zinc rich ethyl silicate coating. AsClear were able to blast and coat the bridges in a short time frame that met the requirements of the contractors and the DSE.
